I have a problem...

Actually what I have is more of a moral dilemma and its starting to take its toll. My issue is that I'm a registered, card carrying, dues paying to the RNC, Republican and my party has hurt and disappointing me. Myself as well as most of the GOP thought 2000 was going to be the start of something special. We had the presidency and majority's in both houses....now was the time we could actually "fix" things. Dreams of a budget that would finally be balanced, a smaller and less powerful federal government, everything run in an efficient and businesslike manner ....then.......nothing. While we watched the war the party let the top 1% of Americans gain unprecedented power and wealth. The fucking war gave them an incredible smokescreen, we Republicans do tend to be a bit hawkish and the war was run the way we wished. Hard, fast, devastating to our foes..all the ineptness of the Dem-lead military (think Iran debacle & Somalia) was washed away. But the war never ended and our economy slow and slowed, the healthcare problem became unmanagble even a Dem president being elected didn't really change things. The Federal Government and the Democrat-Republican  political machine were so entrenched and powerful that nothing could/can be done to curb their power. Now what do we really have? A pretend democracy controlled by a bunch of rich bastards.
So Im a "take-sides" sort of person, fence sitting has never been my forte. My sympathies lie with the Occupy & Anon crowd who via the amazing world of the internet have always been friends if not allies. But even then I'm not a leftist in the sense that I want to social engineer the world into some socialist dream. I just want common sense an maybe the idea fostered that its more important to take care of our people than turn a health profit. So what does one do?
